THE LIST OF THINGS WE DO FROM THE START WHEN CREATING YOUR WEBSITE | |
1.
Your website name. Having a good
URL is very important in rankings with search engines. We will help you
choose a good web site URL. Your website name must be relevant to you
and your services, but it should not be too specific. For example if you
own a hotel called Aegean, and it is situated on the island of Symi, then
your URL should not be as specific as www.hotelaegean.com, a more effective
name would be www.symihotels.com If you want to attract people to your
hotel first you need to attract people interested in a hotel in Symi but
are not necessarily aware of your hotel, therefore they are not likely
to search for Hotel Aegean but rather search for Hotels in Symi. |
||
2.
We try and make your front page stand out in functionality. Your
front page is the most important on your site. We make your front index
page (your index page) as clean, as creative and as easy to navigate to
get visitors attention right away so they'll stick around. We do not use
heavy graphics (such as flash or massive images) as on this page as this
will make opening your web site slow and it might result in visitors loosing
their patience and moving on. |
||
3.
We optimized your graphics (your photographs, logos,
etc). Your graphics should enhance your page not slow down your page.
A professional web site must have clear images. Unclear images will result
in loss of trust from your website visitors. Of course there is a balance
that we must apply when optimizing images on your web site between an
image that is clear but slow in downloading and an image that is more
blurry but very fast in downloading. |
||
4.
We avoid Broken Links.
We check and we make sure your site has no broken links. Nothing worst
than a broken link for your visitors to loose trust in your business.
(A broken link is when you click on a link expecting to see the next page
but all you get is an error response, because the page is not there or
is not linked correctly. A dead link can also be an image that is supposed
to appear on a web page but instead all you get is an empty box showing. |
||
5.
A good website must have content. How many times have you come
across a web site that consists of many pages but has very little writing?
Your site should be as informative as possible and it should offer its
visitors plenty of relevant information. For example if we are creating
a website about a hotel it is sometimes not enough to just write about
the facilities of the hotel, we sometimes need to tell the website visitor
more about the location and sometimes even more about the general area
in order to make attractive first the general area, then the location
and finally the hotel. We will advise and consult with you on what content
we should use. |
||
6.
A good web site has easy navigation. Visitors should
be able to find any part of your site with ease and be able to navigate
quickly to the page with information they seek on your web site. How many
times have you visited a website seeing something you were interested
in, moved on in the process and could not get back to the web page with
the information that first interested you? |
||
7.
Your Contact Details. Your e-mail, telephone, fax and postal
address information must be seen or reached from every page of your site
to make it easy for your visitors to get in touch with you. How many times
have you spend time going aimlessly from page to page trying to find the
contact details? For a visitor to your web site if your contact details
are not available, then they will trust to put their business through
you. |
||
8.
Spelling and correct English. We proofread each page
and correct any spelling and language errors on your site. |
||
9.
Search Engine Optimization. Your pages should be formatted
and written from the start for the search engines properly. Unless this
happens your website will not perform well and will not bring in much
business |
||
10.
Color Scheme. We build your site around a two or three
color scheme that is easy on the eye and appealing to the eye. We do not
use extreme colors that could be annoying to your website visitors |
||
| |
THE LIST OF THINGS WE DEFINETELY DO NOT DO WHEN CREATING YOUR WEBSITE |
1.
Navigation
that is not easily understood - Navigating around a website easily
is a must if you wish your visitors to stay on your site. There is nothing
more frustrating than searching aimlessly from page to page for the information
required. Bad navigation is a definite turn off for prospective customers. |
|
2.
Flash and unnecessary animations - We do not use flash
or unnecessary graphics. These will slow down your web site in downloading
quickly and they can be counter productive with search engines. Nothing
worst than a site using a massive flash file on its index page. visitors
will not hang around for the flash file to download. On top of that by
using flash you have disabled any chance of ranking your index page on
the search engines. |
|
3.
Frames. We do not use frames, as most search engines are unable
to read frames. A frame is where one part of the page (for example the
menu) remains static and the rest of the page scrolls up or down. |
|
4.
Scrolling. We make sure your visitors can see most of your pages
right on the screen. We resize the pages so that your web site visitors
are not made to scroll from left to right to read the page. Having to
scroll from left to right in order to read the content of a page is a
stand out sign of badly designed pages |
|
5.
No contact information. We make sure your visitors find
your contact information easily. |
|
6.
Page Backgrounds and Text. We make sure your page background is
a solid color or just white. We do not use crazy designs for your page
backgrounds which can sometimes make your page unreadable. Text colors
used are subtle and size is kept to the normal standard. |
|
7.
Sub-Domains. We do not use tricks such as creating your
web site as a sub domain. (An example of a sub domain is www.yourhotel.hotels2web.com,
whilst a proper domain would be www.yourhotel.com) Creating your website
as a sub domain that has links to the main domain means that you could
be likely to loose your website visitors to your competitors. Such techniques
are used to create false traffic and popularity to the main domain that
has nothing to do with you. |
|
8.
Create your pages using complicated coding - We create
your pages in simple html coding. Html coding is something that ALL search
engines can read and understand, Therefore we do maximize your chances
of your website and web pages ranking well with all search engines. |
